Six days. That’s all that’s standing between runners and the end of summer. Can I get a hallelujah!?!

If kryptonite weakens Superman, water melts the Wicked Witch of the West and sunlight kills off vampires, heat and humidity are my greatest weaknesses when it comes to running.

Case in point:

I’ve thrown a few too many weather-related temper tantrums about my Florida running conditions (sorry real life friends and family who have to put up with them over and over), and I’ve already been sending snarky emojis to my friends up north who are posting photos running in long sleeves. But, I haven’t been alone this summer. From athletes I coach to running friends across the country, you’ve all commiserated about the brutal summer running conditions this year. Running in heat and humidity is hard. It often results in slower times, feeling fatigued, dehydration and reduced confidence levels.

Well, it’s almost over. There is light at the end of the tunnel. The first day of fall is September 22.
